Burnaby RCMP investigates targeted shooting

Police are investigating a shooting in Burnaby Friday afternoon. Burnaby RCMP were called to the 6400-block of Roberts Street at about 1:30 p.m. after reports of gunshots in the area, according to a police press release.

Police are investigating a shooting in Burnaby Friday afternoon.

Burnaby RCMP were called to the 6400-block of Roberts Street at about 1:30 p.m. after reports of gunshots in the area, according to a police press release.

Officers attended and confirmed shots had been fired.

Although there were people inside a nearby residence, no one was injured.

“Officers are conducting neighbourhood canvassing and speaking with witnesses to obtain further information,” Cpl. Daniela Panesar said. “The investigation is still in its early stages, but initial indications are that this is an isolated but targeted incident.”
