If you had your tools stolen recently, the Burnaby RCMP may have good news for you.

On Sept. 19, the Burnaby RCMP's prolific offender suppression team was monitoring a man who was driving a stolen car. During their surveillance, police saw him selling tools to another person. Officers moved in, arrested the man and recovered items in the car they believe to be stolen property.

"The Burnaby RCMP detachment is dedicated to crime reduction through many programs and specialized sections and this is one example of the ongoing success of these programs," Chief Supt. Dave Critchley of the Burnaby RCMP said in a press release.

The Burnaby RCMP is attempting to determine ownership of these tools: drills, saws, a nail gun, a grinder, a router, a cutter, an air compressor, a paint sprayer, cords, a GPS unit and sunglasses.

Anybody who knows the rightful owner of these items is asked to contact Cpl. Melissa Brown at 604-294-7922. Proof of ownership will be required.
