The Burnaby RCMP is hosting its fourth annual awards ceremony at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts tonight.
This year, 112 people, including police officers, municipal employees, volunteers and citizens will receive recognition, which include awards for long service outstanding investigative work and selfless acts that contribute to making the city a safer place to live and work.
"These selfless acts and service being honoured here today are an example of what the outstanding members, staff, volunteers of the Burnaby RCMP detachment bring to the community and the organization on a daily basis," Chief Supt. Dave Critchley said in a press release. "They have demonstrated through their service, commitment and dedication that they truly care, and their sense of duty compels them to do their best. I am proud of each and everyone one of them."
