Burnaby RCMP to host four fraud avoidance seminars

The Burnaby RCMP will be hosting four fraud avoidance presentations at local community centres this autumn.

The Burnaby RCMP will be hosting four fraud avoidance presentations at local community centres this autumn.

These presentations will be oriented towards senior citizens with the intent to educate them on how to avoid becoming the victims of unscrupulous people who intend to take advantage of them. The presenters are members of the Burnaby RCMP economic crime unit. They will be speaking on topics such as common scams, telemarketing, identity theft, impersonation and the financial abuse of seniors.

The seminar dates and times are: Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 10:30 a.m. at the Cameron Recreation Complex; Tuesday, Sept. 18 at 1 p.m. at the Confederation Recreation Complex; Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 1:30 p.m. at the Bonsor Recreation Complex; and Thursday, Oct. 11 at 11 a.m. at the Edmonds Community Centre
