A man wanted in connection with two Burnaby bank robberies has been arrested in New Westminster.
New Westminster police arrested the man last Friday after he allegedly held up a bank in New Westminster's downtown.
New Westminster police say the man entered the Bank of Montreal in Columbia Square just before 2 p.m., produced a note claiming he had a gun, demanded cash, and fled with an undisclosed amount of money.
Shortly after getting the suspect's description, police located the man on foot nearby, with the stolen cash.
Vancouver resident Eldon Peters, 38, is now facing one count of robbery related to the incident, and Burnaby RCMP have charged him with two counts of robbery based on recent similar incidents in Burnaby. Peters is also being investigated by Edmonton police in connection with five robberies there.
Peters has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance on Feb 7.
