Burnaby says it's now easier to get a dog licence

Burnaby's Animal Control Bylaw requires that dog owners purchase an annual licence for their dogs. There is a limit of three dogs per household. Dogs over the age of four months are required to wear a dog licence tag.

Burnaby's Animal Control Bylaw requires that dog owners purchase an annual licence for their dogs. There is a limit of three dogs per household. Dogs over the age of four months are required to wear a dog licence tag.

Each Registered dog will receive a City of Burnaby branded perpetual dog tag with the dog licence number stamped onto the tag. New and replacement tags will be mailed out within 5-7 business days upon receive application.

If you dog is found unlicensed, you will be issued a ticket and face a penalty.

Dog registration, licence renewals and replacement tag requests can now be completed online through My Property Portal. Fees are payable through credit card or can be linked to your financial institution.

Complete the required forms and submit it with the appropriate fees to the Licence Office. Mail the completed form(s) with cheque payable to: City of Burnaby, to: Licence Office 4949 Canada Way, Burnaby, BC V5G 1M2

*Per the City of Burnaby Fee Recovery Bylaw 13640; for payments made by credit card a fee of 1.75% will be charged at the time of the transaction to recover the costs the City of Burnaby pays for accepting credit cards as payment.
