There should be no hugging at Burnaby’s BCIT.
That’s one of the messages from BCIT president Kathy Kinloch, who is featured in a new video posted on YouTube and sent out to students, faculty and staff.
Kinloch says in the video that BCIT is taking COVID-19 seriously and offers a series of tips for people to prevent the spread of the virus, including washing your hands for 20 seconds.
But she also said she will be doing elbow bumps, instead of her usual hugging or shaking hands.
“Avoid close, unprotected contact with others,” Kinloch says in the video. “I know that this can be a challenge and those of you who know me know that I often shake hands or hug students, faculty and staff.”
