The City of Burnaby is asking for public input for Sperling and Duthie traffic calming study.

Burnaby residents are being invited to participate in a study focusing on enhancing the safety of people who live or frequent the Sperling and Duthie corridors.

The city says local residents, businesses and those who travel using the corridors to reach destinations in Burnaby or a neighbouring community are invited to complete an online survey, which will help project teams understand local issues as well as stakeholder concerns.

The survey's deadline is scheduled for Oct. 31, 2021.

The input will help identify potential solutions as well as strategies for improving the safety of drivers, cyclists and pedestrians.

The city explains this initiative is a response to resident concerns about driver speeds and traffic volumes through the neighbourhoods.

Areas of the study include Sperling Avenue (between Broadway and Hastings Street) and Duthie Avenue (from Broadway to Ridge Drive).

The nearby intersection of Montecito Drive and Phillips Avenue is also included

The study team also plans to reach out to local schools, TransLink and emergency service providers.
