Another Burnaby Shoppers Mart has reported a positive COVID-19 case involving a staff member in recent days.

Loblaw Companies Ltd. updated its COVID-19 tracker on Monday, Dec. 7 that its Shoppers Drug Mart outlet at 7155 Kingsway in the Highgate Shopping Village had seen a positive case with a staff member.

The “team member” last worked at this location on Nov. 29. This location also saw a staff member test positive earlier in November.

The Shoppers Drug Mart at 6508 East Hastings St. in Burnaby also reported a positive test in November.

On Monday, Loblaw also reported a worker at the Real Canadian Superstore in Metropolis at Metrotown has tested positive. The last day the team member worked was on Dec. 1, according to a new posting on the company’s COVID-19 tracking page.

Loblaw has said it has detailed plans in place when such cases are discovered. They include public notifications on its tracker site and extensive cleaning measures being put into place, as well as the employee in question being isolated.
