With the bus drivers’ union threatening a system-wide strike from Wednesday to Friday next week, riders are looking at alternatives.

One group that faces a particularly difficult challenge are SFU students who attend classes on Burnaby Mountain.

SFU has said all activities will continue during a potential strike.

Some students have signed up on a carpooling Facebook page that you can see here.

SFU has said there is parking available for more vehicles, but nobody is sure how many additional vehicles would be seen at the Burnaby campus.

One student named Grayson Lee is proposing another idea – renting a bus.

“Hi guys this isn't exactly carpool but an alternative if enough people need it...
I'm thinking of renting a 50 seater bus to go from production up and down the mountain on Wed - Fri between school hours, If there's enough interest. It'd cost between 3-4$ per trip (much cheaper than the $15 cab ride),” read the post.
