The Burnaby Teachers' Association is joining forces with CUPE Local 379 to host a public town hall meeting on education funding.
The two groups want the province to improve its funding formula for public schools in Burnaby.
"Currently, the Burnaby board of education must supplement inadequate funding received from the Ministry of Education in order to increase support for special needs students," said Richard Storch, president of the Burnaby Teachers' Association.
The town hall meeting is on Thursday, Jan. 26, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Schou Education Centre, at 4041 Canada Way.
There will be a panel of speakers, including district secretary-treasurer Greg Frank, school board chair Larry Hayes and representatives from CUPE and the B.C. Teachers' Federation.
