A Burnaby man could be facing drug trafficking charges after an incident at Metrotown SkyTrain station last week.

Transit Police were patrolling the station around 2:30 p.m. on May 22, when they spotted a man who is known to police, allegedly selling drugs.

The officers arrested the suspect and a search of his belongings revealed 30 individual bags of marijuana, ready for sale, according to a media release from Transit Police.

Investigators are recommending he be charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, the release added.

The suspect, who is an 18-year-old Burnaby resident, has been issued a promise to appear in court. His court date is scheduled for July 18.
