If I was going to pick anywhere to go swimming in Burnaby, it wouldn’t be at CG Brown pool.

It’s just so dark and dingy. It’s old and decrepit and needs replacing.

The good news is the City of Burnaby is doing just that - replacing the CG Brown Memorial Pool and Burnaby Lake Arena with new facilities to better meet the community’s needs, today and into the future.

The new facilities will mix with the newly christened Christine Sinclair Community Centre right across Kensington into an incredible area for facilities.

"Based on community feedback, along with best practices and technical requirements, the City of Burnaby is ready to present a preliminary plan of development for the new Burnaby Lake aquatic and arena facility," said the city.

Virtual open house:

Residents and stakeholders are invited to attend a virtual open house that includes a presentation of the proposal along with the opportunity to ask questions of the project team.

About the facilities
CG Brown Pool and Burnaby Lake Arena were both built in the early 1960s and have reached the end of their useful life. The City plans to replace them with a new aquatic and arena facility on the same site within the Burnaby Lake Sports Complex.
