We're continuing with our popular feature - our staff's Top 5 (Or More) Things To Do This Weekend, and we have a few more events sure to excite all locals.

1 Get roaring on Saturday, Sept. 22 for the ROAR (Royal Oak and Rumble) community picnic, in the park west of Burnaby South Secondary School. Refreshments, hot dogs and entertainment are all on the docket.

This event goes rain or shine from 11: 30 a.m. to 2: 30 p.m. Local band Rainshadow will provide the music. For more information, call 6045650520.

2 Get eating and dancing on Saturday, Sept. 22 at the Edmonds dinner and dance, presented by the Edmonds Community Centre for 55+ at 7282 Kingsway. Enjoy the musical stylings of G7.

Catered Chinese food is also provided and included in the registration fee.

The event runs from 5 to 8: 30 p.m. and is $15 for members and $18.75 for non-members. For more information, call 604-525-1671.

3 Get grooving to Groove 'N Tonic, playing on both Sept. 21 and 22 at the Admiral Pub and Grill at 4125 Hastings St. in North Burnaby.

This six-member band always puts on a good show and the best part: No cover charge.

Get cultural at the Tian Jin Cultural Festival at 3426 Smith Ave. on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This newly renovated temple reopened earlier this year and this is a continuing celebration for the Chines Taoism Kuan-Kung Association of Canada.

5 Get appreciating art at the opening reception for Alternate Visions, Figurative Studies and Inner Landscapes, an exhibit featuring paintings by Ron Straight and pastels by Alan Cheung on Friday, Sept. 21 at 6: 30 p.m. at the Deer Lake Gallery at 6584 Deer Lake Ave.
