Bus strike could mean Burnaby Hospital patients using shuttle service

With the bus drivers’ union threatening a system-wide strike from Wednesday to Friday next week, riders are looking at alternatives. One group that faces a particularly difficult challenge are people who need to use Burnaby Hospital.

With the bus drivers’ union threatening a system-wide strike from Wednesday to Friday next week, riders are looking at alternatives.

One group that faces a particularly difficult challenge are people who need to use Burnaby Hospital.

The Burnaby Hospital Foundation has tweeted out that its shuttle system could help people in case of a bus strike. It’s free to use.

The shuttle runs Monday to Friday from 5:40 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
First pick up at 5:40 a.m. at Gilmore SkyTrain station, last pick up at Patterson SkyTrain station (to Burnaby Hospital) at 8:20 p.m.

  • Fraser Health and Lower Mainland health authority staff
  • Physicians and medical students
  • Volunteers
  • Patients and visitors
