It was an eventful few hours for local RCMP in North Burnaby Thursday night.
Around 9 p.m. officers were called to the 200 block of Fell Avenue near Dundas Street after a car crashed into the side of a house.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested for impaired driving, and his car was impounded. No one was injured in the crash.
“He was issued the road-side screening device, which he failed, then he was subsequently arrested,” Cpl. Daniela Panesar, spokesperson for the Burnaby RCMP, told the NOW.
The 48-year-old Burnaby man was released from custody and has been issued a 90-day driving suspension under the Motor Vehicle Act. His car will also be impounded for 30 days.
About four hours later, shortly before 1 a.m., officers were called to Hastings Street near Warwick Avenue following reports a naked man was running around the area.
The man was apprehended by police under the Mental Health Act. He was taken to hoispital by paramedics. No charges were laid.
