Shutterbugs, get your cameras ready. The Shadbolt Centre for the Arts is hosting a juried exhibition of photography to showcase and celebrate the culture of Burnaby, in celebration of the city's 120th anniversary and the upcoming Culture Days.

The Shadbolt Centre for the Arts is hosting a juried exhibition of photography to showcase and celebrate the culture of Burnaby, in celebration of the city's 120th anniversary and the upcoming Culture Days.

Photos must be taken in Burnaby and should represent what culture means to the photographer.

Jurors for the exhibition will select images to be digitally exhibited at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts leading up to and during Culture Days, Sept. 28 to 30, 2012.

Selected photographers will receive an invitation to attend the opening reception on Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. at the Shadbolt Centre.

Applicants can submit up to five images, which should be saved as a digital file in jpeg format at 300dpi and 2,550 x 3,300 pixels. Images must be saved with the following format: the photographer's name, the title, the year created (i.e.: Jane_Doe_TheFarm_2012).

Attach submissions in an email addressed to submis [email protected] with subject line: Capture Culture Burnaby.

Deadline for entries is Sept. 5, and selected photographers will be announced on Sept. 14.

The Shadbolt Centre for the Arts is an award-winning, multi-purpose community arts facility in Burnaby's Deer Lake Park.

The centre offers programming year-round for arts classes, performances, festivals, exhibitions and special events.
