Canada's junior team second at senior nationals

Ho-Garcia scored the goahead 3-2 goal and tallied a second counter late in the game in the junior team's 6-3 win over Team Ontario on Monday at Tamanawis Park.

Matthew Bissett of New Westminster opened the scoring for the Canadian juniors, while twin brother Stephen added a pair of later counters, tying the match at 2-2 and then scoring what turned out to be the eventual game-winner. in the 44th minute

Currimbhoy tallied the 3-0 marker for the junior nats in a 5-0 shutout over Alberta in the team's opening game on June 30.

The junior men placed second overall to the senior B.C. Blue team following a 2-0 loss in the gold-medal final on Tuesday.

The juniors also tied Christopher Roydhouse and the senior B.C. White team 2-2 during preliminary play.

The junior men placed second in pool standings with a 2-1-1 record. B.C. Blue topped the pool at 40-0. B.C. White and Ontario both finished up with a win and a tie in four matches.

In women's play, Burnaby's Erin De Sousa shared a silver medal at the nationals with B.C.'s senior team following a 2-0 loss to the national juniors.

The junior women finiished with a 5-0-0 record in pool play. B.C. Blue's only loss was a 5-1 defeat to the junior nats on Monday.

Sophie Jones and Ellen Colbourne, both of New Westminster, played on the under-18 B.C. White team.
