The Burnaby Artists Guild is celebrating the season with its Spring Extravaganza.
The original art exhibition and sale is set for April 13 to 15 at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts, 6450 Deer Lake Ave.
The exhibition includes a special display of artwork by featured artist James Koll, as well as work by guild members in a variety of media and styles - including art cards and fridge magnets.
A framed, original painting will be up for raffle, and guild members will be on hand for demonstrations and on-thespot portrait sketches.
The exhibition runs Friday from 7 to 10 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

CELEBRATION OF SPRING AT GALLERY
'Tis the season for spring art.
Over at the Burnaby Arts Council gallery, it's time for the Celebration of Spring.
The annual juried group exhibition includes the work of emerging and established visual artists from around the Lower Mainland.
An opening reception is set for Saturday, April 7 from 2 to 4 p.m., and the exhibition continues through to April 28.
The gallery, at 6584 Deer Lake Ave., is open Tuesdays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 1 to 4 p.m.

CREATE AN ARTISTIC DECK GARDEN
Gardeners and artists alike will enjoy this one.
As part of its Celebration of Spring exhibition, the Burnaby Arts Council is hosting a Zen Fusion: Deck Garden Workshop on Sunday, April 22.
Zen artist Ari Tomita will instruct 10 participants in designing and building a zen fusion meditation deck garden.
It's a hands-on workshop, and the cost is $25.

CHOIR LOOKING FOR PAST SINGERS
Did you ever sing with the Vivo Children's Choir?
The New Westminsterbased choir is looking for alumni to join in a special concert marking its 10th anniversary.
There will be two rehearsals for alumni before the concert, which is happening on May 6 at 4 p.m. at Holy Trinity Cathedral.
