Two Surrey youth were charged with aggravated assault after a party in Burnaby turned violent Saturday night.

Police were called to the 5500 block of Kingsway shortly after 2:30 a.m. on Aug. 8 when a party got out of hand. Three people were taken to hospital with stab wounds, one in serious condition with a punctured lung, according to Burnaby RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Daniela Panesar.

“Since the incident, one (victim) has been released from the hospital and two are still in the hospital,” she added.

The victims were from neighbouring Coquitlam and New Westminster.

A 16-year-old, whose name won’t be released because he is a minor, and 25-year-old Julian Johnson were charged with aggravated assault.

Johnson is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 25 in Vancouver.
