Serious drug charges are pending against two men caught in Burnaby with nearly 100 baggies of fentanyl, heroin and cocaine, according to police.
In late July, Burnaby RCMP officers were conducting patrols in the area of Canada Way and 17th Avenue, when they spotted a vehicle whose occupants they suspected were dealing drugs.
When the officers stopped the vehicle, one of the two men inside tried to take off, according to an RCMP press release.

He was detained, however, along with the male driver.
A search then revealed cell phones, cash and baggies of various drugs, including fentanyl, cocaine and heroin.
“We’re aware of the harm that these drugs can cause, and our teams will continue to actively pursue those who are dealing drugs in our communities,” said Burnaby RCMP Insp. Kathy Hartwig, the officer in charge of community programs.
A 27-year-old Burnaby resident and a 19-year-old Surrey man now face charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking in relation to the case.
