April 28 has been proclaimed the annual day of mourning for workers killed and injured on the job in Burnaby.

Mayor Derek Corrigan also proclaimed April 21 to 28 organ and tissue donation awareness week in Burnaby.
FRIEND OF ALL AGES
Burnaby North MLA Richard Lee presented the province's age-friendly recognition certificate to Burnaby council, as well as a cheque for $1,000.
Burnaby earned the award through its commitment to key milestones in working with seniors, according to Lee.
The $1,000 grant is meant to go towards an age-friendly event or project.
