Volunteer Burnaby is receiving a large community grant from the city this year.
The local nonprofit has been granted $14,000 to help with its programming.
The grant was approved by council at Monday night's meeting.
Burnaby council also approved a $400 in-kind grant for Volunteer Grandparents, to cover printing costs for a small banner and marketing material.
Seniors' groups in Burnaby were awarded $7 per person for this year's Christmas Dinner grants.
And finally, the city provided Burnaby Minor Softball with a $1,000 grant to help with travel costs for six members of the Burnaby Oakeys U16 softball team who competed in the Canadian Nationals in Brantford, Ont. in August.
