Four North Burnaby residents have made the list of Canadians who will receive a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, in addition to the four South Burnaby residents mentioned at a council meeting last month.
Burnaby North MLA Richard Lee sent the list of residents from the north side of the city to Burnaby council.
The four residents are: Joe Finamore, past president of the Italian Cultural Centre in Vancouver; Jack Kuyer, owner of Valley Bakery in the Heights; Gim Wong, a veteran who spoke out about the Chinese head tax and 1923 Exclusion Act during the past decade; and Dr. Thomas Leung.
