The City of Burnaby will begin charging fees for access to historical tax information in 2013.

Historical tax information that takes less than 15 minutes to compile will be subject to a $10 fee and anything over 15 minutes will cost $35 per hour.

The changes were proposed in a report by the city's director of finance, Denise Jorgenson, and were approved by council at the Nov. 5 council meeting.

Tax apportionments - done in the case of subdivision or stratification of a parcel of land - will also be charged a fee of $35.

Fees for tax certificates, mortgage information requests and dishonoured payments will all increase by $5.
