The results of the Burnaby Citizens Association nomination vote for the upcoming 2022 municipal election are still unknown while the party looks into "concerns" involving electronic voting.

Voting began on March 27 at 3:30 p.m. and was scheduled to end on March 30 at 5 p.m. A post from candidate Harman Pandher said a link would be sent to emails. Burnaby school trustee Ryan Stewart told the NOW he was also vying for a nomination to make the leap to a council seat.

Three other known candidates include Antara Deb, Doris Mah and Eugene Tseng.

The party told the NOW in an emailed statement on March 30 that it would not be counting votes as planned.

"We are currently looking into concerns related to electronic voting and will be delaying the announcement and count of the vote to ensure the vote was conducted in a fair manner and in accordance with BCA bylaws," BCA president Leila Lolua wrote.

As of this publication, it's unclear if voting will be redone or the current count will be completed.
