Milk and cookies are a match made in heaven, and one B.C. organization is hoping to use this heavenly combination to combat life-threatening illness in children.

B.C. and the Yukon’s only pediatric palliative care provider, Canuck Place, with sponsorship from BC Dairy, is holding its annual Milk & Cookies for Canuck Place fundraiser (formerly Cookies for Canuck Place). It runs until the end of the month to raise money for children and families fighting illness — and to ensure the cookie jar is always full.

Local bakeries including Burnaby’s Punk Rock Pastries are participating in the fundraising campaign.

Canuck Place is encouraging people to fundraise in support of the campaign by buying treats from or donating to the Canuck Place Cookie Club (local businesses taking part for the cause), or hosting bake sales.

The fundraising goal for this year’s Milk and Cookies for Canuck Place campaign is $30,000, and with 24 days left, they have $25,146 to go to reach their target. BC Dairy is also matching donations up to $30,000.
