Fraser Health is dealing with two COVID-19 outbreaks in Burnaby according to its latest updated.
Fraser Health said in a news release that a staff member at Normanna has tested positive for COVID-19.
“Fraser Health has declared an outbreak at this location, and a rapid response team is at the site,” said a news release. “Communication with residents and families is underway. The staff member is currently in self-isolation at their home in long term care.”
Normanna is a long-term care facility in Burnaby owned and operated by Norwegian Old People’s Home Association. Normanna had a previous outbreak in September.
“Enhanced control measures have been put in place at the site,” said Fraseaer Health. “Fraser Health is working with staff to identify anyone who may have been exposed and is taking steps to protect the health of all staff, residents and families.”
A secondoutbreak has been declared at Burnaby’s Fellburn Care Centre on Hastings Street.
Anoutbreak at Fair Haven Homes Burnaby Lodge in Burnaby has been declared over. Fair Haven Homes Burnaby Lodge is a long-term care facility in Burnaby that is owned and operated by Fair Haven Homes Society.
