Fans of papercraft will have a rare opportunity this coming weekend to learn some new skills.
The Crop & Create: Burnaby event is running on June 2 and 3 at the Hilton Metrotown, with a variety of classes in scrapbooking and card making with teachers from across the country.
The conference is organized by Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine, based in Ontario, and has already had successful runs in Saskatoon, Markham, Winnipeg and Moncton, according to the magazine's publisher Catherine Tachdjian.
"(This) is geared for the both the brand new scrapbooker and the very advanced papercrafter," she said. "With classes and make-n-takes designed for each level, all papercrafters leave the Crop & Create with a vast new understanding of this craft."
This is the first time the event has come to Burnaby. Tachdjian said they've been hearing back plenty of positive feedback from attendees in other locations.
"They often cannot wait to get home to try out what they have learned," she said.
