'Tis the season of dance at the Michael J. Fox Theatre.
Local dance aficionados and dance students will be glad to know that the theatre is full of dance performances and competitions over the next month.
Some highlights:
- April 27 and 28: The Canadian Dance Organization's dance competition takes to the stage for two days, with events starting at 9 a.m. both days. Awards will be given out in solo, duet/trio, small group and large group categories, with age ranges from six and under to 17 and over. See www.cdo-online.org.
- May 3 to 5: The Synergy Dance competition takes to the stage. Competition is for all levels of dancers, from novice to pro-elite, and in disciplines including jazz, tap, contemporary, lyrical, hip hop, acrobatics and more. See www.synergydance.ca for full details.

- May 15 and 16: The Dance Power dance competition comes to the theatre for two days of fun. It's for all levels of dancers in a variety of styles, including character ballet, classical ballet, contemporary, hip hop, jazz, lyrical, national, pointe, tap and more.
