Did you witness a hit-and-run in the Burnaby Lake stretch of Highway 1 two weeks ago? If so, police want to talk to you.

At about 7:45 p.m. on Friday, March 11, a blue Volkswagen Golf was travelling eastbound on the highway in the middle lane near the Kensington Avenue overpass when it was sideswiped on the driver’s side, according to a Burnaby RCMP news release.

The suspect vehicle is described as a dark coloured SUV with “modern looking taillights,” the release said.

Mounties said the suspect vehicle will likely have some damage on the passenger’s side.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or have dashcam footage of the area at the time to contact Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999.
