The highlights

This side-by-side duplex was on the market for a few months but ultimately sold for nearly $1.5 million, just shy of its asking price.

Located in the Simon Fraser Hills neighbourhood, near SFU, it looks out on a view of the city that goes all the way to Metrotown.

The living rooms have 12-foot vaulted cedar ceilings, and there are four wood-burning fireplaces in total between both sides.

With a new roof, updated kitchen appliances, new flooring and lighting and a fenced private yard, along with fully finished basements, the property offered plenty for prospective buyers.

Built in 1976, the duplex also has two covered carports and a total of 10 bedrooms and six bathrooms over both units.
