The Edmonds Business and Community Association is calling for nominees for its upcoming election of new board members.
There are five positions available, including president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer and member at large.
The association is looking for those with prior experience serving on a non-governmental organization board and who have knowledge of the community, according to the association's former president Joyce Rostron.
The non-profit society was established in 2002 and has had a drop in interest in the last two years.
It has three affordable levels of membership, according to a media release.
"It consists of concerned citizens, local businesses, city staff, community groups, agencies, stewardship groups, schools and elected officials from all levels of government," the release states. "They all help promote the neighbourhood, and work on issues to bring about positive change resulting in a community that is inviting, sustainable, and a great place to live, work and play."
The association and Edmonds Community School recently co-hosted a town hall meeting and followup meeting in February and March.
"Looking forward to a fresh new start, the society is currently seeking out and inviting new members, directors and champions to help make Edmonds the best it can be," the release states.
Everyone from the community who wants to see the organization revitalized is invited to the meeting and non-members can vote, according to the media release.
The election and meeting will be held on Friday, April 12 from 6: 30 to 8: 30 p.m. at Tommy Douglas Library.
Nominees should send their intent and resume to Rostron at [email protected].
