While Burnaby residents continue to clean up after the weekend’s storm, local Mounties are reminding everyone to use the four-way stop procedure when they come across an intersection without power.
Throughout the weekend, Burnaby RCMP were the subject of several online comments asking why officers weren’t out directing traffic in areas without power, especially major intersections, including Canada Way and Willingdon Avenue, and Kingsway and Willingdon Avenue.
@ScanBC @BurnabyRCMP how do u not have traffic control at major intersections like Willingdon and kingsway or canada way? Bc drivers suck

But the Burnaby RCMP say it’s not the department’s job to provide traffic control. Calls are prioritized, as always, and officers are constantly responding to emergency calls, especially when there are an abundance of calls coming in, according to the Burnaby RCMP.
