We're continuing with our popular feature - our staff's Top 5 (Or More) Things To Do This Weekend.

This week, we have some great spring break options in the city, along with St. Patrick's Day, which is a time when we can all be Irish. Here's our Top 5 for this weekend.

1Get captivated by Canada's largest Railroadiana Show on Sunday, March 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Cameron Recreation Complex at 9523 Cameron St.

The show features models, collectibles, photos and almost anything you can think of associated with model railroads. Put on by the West Coast Railway Association, this year is the 30th anniversary of the event.

Entrance fee is $5 for adults or $12 for a family, with other concession fares available. For more info, go to www.wcra.org/westernrails, email [email protected] or call 604-484-2791.

2 Get out and enjoy spring break with Japanese fun at the National Nikkei Museum and Heritage Centre's eighth annual Jan Ken Pon! Family Games Day, 1 to 4

p.m. on Saturday, March 17 at 6688 Southoaks Cres. Play with colourful tops and a Japanese style cup and ball, make your own sumo wrestlers and beanbags and run around and burn off some energy.

The day's highlight is a rockpaper-scissors tournament with prizes.

Japanese heritage toys will also be on display. This day is suitable for children aged four to 12; kids must be accompanied by an adult.

Tickets are $5 for children over two years of age and available online at www.nikkeiplace.org, by phone at 604-777-7000 or in person at Nikkei Place.

Place. 3 Get safe on Friday, March 16 with the Safe Harbour Workshop, presented by South Burnaby Neighbourhood House, 1 to 2: 30 p.m at the VanCity, South Slope branch, 7384 Market Crossing, This is a free event, but please RSVP to Branka Vlasic, 604-431-0400 or email Branka@sbnh. ca. For more info, go to www.safeharbour.ca.

4 Get musical at 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 17 with Phoenix Chamber Choir's Visionaries concert, at Holy Rosary Cathedral, 646 Richards St. in Vancouver.

Phoenix, a Burnaby-based choir directed by Burnaby's Ramona Luengen, will be presenting the rarely heard Luminosity by British composer James Whitbourne, a brilliant work for choir, organ, tanpura, viola and percussion, based on the writings of St. John, St. Teresa of Avila, Julian of Norwich and St. Isaac of Nineveh.

Also on the program is an achingly beautiful setting of Sara Teasdale's There Will Be Rest by Frank Ticheli.

Tickets: adults $25; seniors (60+)/ students: $20; secondary school students with I.D. $10; groups of 10 or more: $15 each.

5 Get celebrating St. Patrick's Day by imbibing a green beer or two at your local neighbourhood pub. Burnaby has a lot of good ones - apologies to those we don't mention here - but some of our favourites include the Hop and Vine in North Burnaby, the Oliver Twist in Edmonds, both clubhouses at Burnaby Mountain and Riverway golf courses and the Great Bear Pub on Kingsway.

Go and enjoy St. Patrick's Day, but be responsible and ensure you have a safe ride home afterwards.
