Environment Week, which takes place this year from June 3 to 9, will again include a citywide garage sale, taking place on the final day.
Information about the event will be available on a special website being organized by the City of Burnaby's engineering department, according to a report by the director of planning and building, Basil Luksun.
Other events include a week-long commuter challenge, put on by Better Environmentally Sound Transportation; a naming project for 38 unnamed waterways in Burnaby; guided canoe trips at Deer Lake Park on June 5; and the planting of the city's alligator EcoSculpture at the Eileen Dailly Recreation Centre on June 6.
Environment award winners will be announced at the May 28 council meeting.
