What caused an explosion at a residence near Brentwood Town Centre is still being investigation by Burnaby RCMP.
Mounties and emergency personnel responded to a home at Graveley Street and Whitsell Avenue on Tuesday after an explosion, which was felt by surrounding residents, was reported around 1:44 p.m.
“It was an explosion, and we’re still trying to determine what caused it,” Burnaby Staff Sgt. Maj. John Buis told the NOW.
Three people were taken to hospital with burns but Buis couldn’t comment on the severity of their injuries at this time.
Officers remained on scene for several hours collecting evidence.
Buis wouldn’t comment when asked if the explosion was related to a drug lab, and reiterated that the investigation is ongoing.
