Former Burnaby Winter Club product, Kevin Sundher, was traded Monday night from the Victoria Royals to the Brandon Wheat Kings in a blockbuster Western Hockey League trade.
Sundher, a slick, play-making centre, was drafted in the third round, 75th overall, by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
In return for Sundher, the Royals received defenseman Jordan Fransoo, forward Dakota Conroy and Brandon's first-round pick in the 2012 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.
The 19-year-old Sundher, a Surrey native, has 90 goals and 241 assists in 255 games with the Chilliwack Bruins/Victoria Royals franchise.
Fransoo is an Ottawa Senators prospect drafted in the seventh round, 186th overall, in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
Closer to home, the Vancouver Giants announced Tuesday that they've traded captain James Henry to the Moose Jaw Warriors for two draft picks. Another former Burnaby Winter Club product, Brendan Gallagher, was named the new Giants captain.
The WHL trade deadline is today.
