A quartet of notables will be seeking TEAM Burnaby council nominations at the civic party's July 31 nomination meeting.
Former Burnaby councillors Garth Evans and Lee Rankin, along with former federal MP Paul Forseth and former mayoralty candidate Ray Power, have thrown their hats into the ring for council spots.
Currently, all Burnaby council spots are held by members of the Burnaby Citizens' Association party.
For school board, also with all seats held by BCA members, longtime school district employee Franca Zumpano and Burnaby resi-dent Sharlene Silva are seeking TEAM Burnaby nominations.
"TEAM Burnaby plans to run a full slate for mayor, council and school board," said party president Graham Murchie in a press release.
Murchie said the TEAM board was impressed by the strong credentials and backgrounds of the candidates to date.
"The candidates bring both private and public life experience to the table," he said.
Forseth is a former fourterm MP who lost in the May federal election in Burnaby-New Westminster to Peter Julian.
Evans also lost to Julian in that election, with Forseth representing the Conservatives and Evans carrying the Liberal banner federally.
