It's summer and the forecast finally looks like it's taking a turn for the better.

With the weather improving, now's the time to head out and check out some activities in the city.
For this issue, we have some artistic endeavours and some great lacrosse games to get out to.
1 Get watching The Gaze of History: Portraits from the Collection with drawing installation by Elizabeth MacKenzie at the Burnaby Art Gallery at 6344 Deer Lake Ave.

2 Get the kids into gardening on Saturday, July 7 for Monoprints in the Garden, a free youth workshop for children aged four and five.

3 Get frame shopping on Saturday, July 7 for The Frame Sale, running from 9 a.m. to noon.

4 Get watching some world-class rugby on Saturday, July 7, when the Burnaby Lake Lighthouse Sevens takes place at the Burnaby Lake Sports Complex (East). This event, hosted by the Burnaby Lake Rugby Club, features some of the best seven-on-seven rugby in the country, as elite men, elite women, social men and junior boys under-14 compete all day in the sport that will be a part of the 2016 Summer Olympics.
There's also a beer garden, barbecue and entertainment at this family-friendly event.
5 Get cheering for the 2012 Jack Crosby novice all-star lacrosse tournament, which runs all weekend at Bill Copeland and Burnaby Lake arenas. Burnaby teams are wellrepresented in the threetier tourney that honours the memory of one of Burnaby's lacrosse leaders. The medal rounds take place on Sunday, with gold medal games at Bill Copeland and bronzemedal games at Burnaby Lake.
6 Get rooting for the Burnaby Sr. Lakers as they host the New Westminster Salmonbellies on Friday night at 7: 45 p.m. at Bill Copeland arena. The Sr. Lakers are battling for a playoff spot so every win at this point is critical. Tickets are available at the door.
