The bikes will be hitting the streets of Burnaby again this summer.
The Giro di Burnaby is returning to Hastings Street on July 12.
On Monday night, Burnaby council approved plans to close city roads in the area for the cycling race.
Last year was the Giro's fourth, with about 5,000 people attending.
The Giro di Burnaby is part of B.C. Superweek, a professional racing event held in the province, with more than $55,000 available in prizes throughout the week.
The prize purse in Burnaby is more than $15,000.
This year, the Tour de Gastown returns after being cancelled for the past three years, according to a report presented to council by the parks, recreation and culture commission.
That makes for a total of nine races in the Lower Mainland for this year's event.
