New breakfast spot to open in Burnaby in March.

Unless you've been living under a rock, you might have seen those yellow fluffy egg toasts from a Vancouver cafe ruling Instagram.

Burnaby residents can soon enjoy those toasts of sunshine and start their day right — by walking into their newest location right in the heart of Burnaby.

First launched during the pandemic, Bread X Butter, a Vancouver based breakfast cafe, has been a hidden gem inside Cathedral Place downtown, serving traditional breakfast choices (like avocado toast, bagels and simple PB&J toast) to the more bold pasta and butter udon lunch options.

Its signature gourmet fluffy egg toasts quickly became a fan favourite, coming in variations like truffle mushroom, Hawaiian luau and avocado-me — and the cafe expanded. It was announced on its Instagram account earlier in the week that the new Burnaby location on Kingsway will open next month and will be its third outpost.

Although the exact date is unknown, the cafe will be nested on the corner of Kingsway and Nelson Avenue, across from Metrotown Superstore. It will be open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on weekends from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m..

The NOW has reached out for more information, but until then you can still visit their Vancouver location to taste their fluffy egg toasts.
