There's only one gas station in Burnaby currently offering less than $1.60 per litre.
The Smart Gas on Canada Way is offering $1.59 per litre, as of this publication, Jan. 19, which is an uptick of four cents from last Friday, Jan. 12.
GasBuddy.com's data shows most outlets experienced the same bump after giving local motorists a short break at the pumps during the Arctic outflow (see full list below).
That price is also the fifth least expensive in all of Metro Vancouver. The cheapest is $1.53 per litre at the Canco in Aldergrove.
The biggest jump in price was six cents to $1.66 per litre at the Shell along Kingsway.
As a result of the increases, Burnaby's average price for gas sits at $1.65 per litre — six cents more than the $1.59 per litre seven days earlier.
GasBuddy.com notes the least expensive price for fuel in B.C. is $1.40 per litre at the 100th Street Shell in Fort St. John.
It also appears the province's interior is getting a good deal at the pumps with six of the top 10 prices offering around $1.42 per litre in Kelowna, West Kelowna, Salmon Arm and Lake Country.
The cheapest gas within driving distance of Burnaby is $1.42 per litre — nearly 90 km east at the Centex and GOMarket stop off Lickman Road in Chilliwack.
