Here's where to find the cheapest gas in Burnaby

Some Burnaby fuel prices have jumped up by as much as 17 cents for the final February weekend.

A consistent roller-coaster of gas prices in Burnaby has now skyrocketed ahead of the final weekend in February.

In its latest report, GasBuddy.com is showing hikes of more than 15 cents per litre at some local outlets, leaving only three just under $1.80 per litre.

The cheapest available is $1.74 per litre as of this publication, Feb. 23, at the Super Save Gas on 6th Street and Smart Gas along Canada Way (see list below).

Those are increases of five ($1.69) and eight cents ($1.66) respectively from last Friday, Feb. 16, and is also one of the more affordable prices currently on the Metro Vancouver market.

The largest known increase at a Burnaby gas station was 17 cents at the Kingsway Super Save Gas, jumping to $1.84 from $1.67 per litre.

The city's average gas price sits at $1.83 per litre — a rise of 13 cents from $1.70 last week.

Meanwhile, there are two Metro Vancouver stations offering a price less than $1.70 per litre, and noth are within driving distance for Burnaby motorists.

Surrey's CO-OP on 104 Avenue has gas at $1.67 per litre, while Aldergrove's Chevron on Fraser Highway has posted $1.69 per litre.

Northern B.C. is currently home to the least expensive fuel in the province with seven stations offering less than $1.50 per litre.

The cheapest among them is $1.44 per litre at Super Save Gas on Victoria Street in Prince George.
