Macaron Day is back!

In honour of one of world’s finest confections — macarons — coinciding with the spring blossom season, Burnaby baker Mon Paris Patisserie is bringing back its sweet annual charitable initiatives and signature “limited-time” Sakura and Strawberry seasonal macarons.

Macaron Day is celebrated on March 20 every year, which coincides with the first day of spring.

This year, as Mon Paris Patisserie is closed on Macaron Day, which falls on a Monday, the local bakers at 4396 Beresford St. will be hosting the annual fundraiser on the weekend (March 18 and 19) by donating 50 per cent of macaron sales on those two days to the BC Hospitality Foundation.

Prepare to indulge in sweetness for a great cause this weekend as pastry chef and owner, Elena Krasnova has created three exclusive macaron flavours to commemorate the spring equinox and International Macaron Day — sakura and strawberry (which will be available throughout cherry blossom season), coffee, and blackcurrant.

So shop for a cause and help support those in the hospitality industry facing financial crisis due to a health condition.
