You'll need to find a way to beat the heat in Burnaby today, but rain is coming later this week.

If you like to bask lizard-like in the sunshine, you may want to take advantage of your favourite sunny spot in Burnaby today.

Burnaby will see summer weather once again today, according to the Weather Network's forecast. Though it's just 16 C and partly cloudy as of 8:30 a.m., expect it to warm up quickly — and considerably. This afternoon should see a high of 28 C under mainly sunny skies, with humidity making it feel like 32 C.

But that's meant to be the last of the summer weather for this week, as Tuesday's high is only expected to hit 20 C, with the chance of a shower.

Wednesday and Thursday will bring a mix of sun and clouds, with highs of 18 C and 19 C, respectively, while Friday brings back the rain and a high of 16 C. We could see as much as 20 mm of rain on Friday, in fact.

As for the weekend? Saturday calls for a mix of sun and clouds, with a high of 18 C, while Sunday calls for a few showers and a high of just 15 C.

The air quality remains good, with the air quality health index at all of the city's monitoring stations currently sitting at a 1, or lowest risk. Keep an eye on Burnaby air quality in real time at the Metro Vancouver Air Map.
