As of Monday, Oct.1, the Vancouver weather forecast is predicting a great deal of rainfall throughout the week; however, it is already snowing in parts of B.C.

In fact, a few of the province’s major highways already had a dumping of snowfall on Sunday night. For example, the Trans-Canada Highway, Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass, saw roughly 10 to 15 cm of snow at daybreak. The highway is expected to receive another five to 10 cm today. Following this, another 10 to 15 cm is expected to fall tonight.

What’s more, the forecast predicts snowfall will continue on Tuesday. As a result, Environment Canada is advising drivers to prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions, as visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Further, motorists travelling on some highways will require winter tires on their vehicles as of Monday, Oct. 1.

The forecast is also predicting showers through the rest of the week; however, Sunday shows a mix of sun and cloud.
