For all dog owners who struggle leaving their beloved pet at home when they leave for work, today is the day to bring them with you to the office – with approval of course.
National Take Your Dog to Work Day is celebrated every year on the Friday following Father’s Day and honours one of the most beloved pets.
According to the BC SPCA, the day began in 1999 as a way to celebrate companion dogs and to encourage adoptions of dogs from many animal shelters and rescue groups.
Since then, many businesses have celebrated National Take Your Dog to Work Day, while some offices have adopted office pets as well.
