Three Burnaby restaurants have been named some of Vancouver’s best culinary gems at the 2023 Vancouver Magazine Restaurant Awards.
At the awards event held at Italian Cultural Centre on Monday, May 15, the winners of the 34th annual restaurant awards were chosen from over 100 finalists drawn from a list of Metro Vancouver restaurants.
Stem Japanese Eatery, showcasing homestyle Japanese dishes and located at 5205 Rumble St. in Burnaby, took home two coveted spots in the awards ; earning a silver in the Best of BC wine category and a bronze in the Best Japanese category.
Hanwoori Korean restaurant at 5740 Imperial St. was crowned the bronze winner in the Best Korean restaurant category.
Bagging the silver as one the best Middle Eastern restaurants in the region is Anatolia’s Gate. The Turkish counter-service spot is located on the Burnaby side of Kingsway.
In New Westminster, Longtail Kitchen, a casual Southeast Asian restaurant, which will celebrate its 10-year anniversary at New West’s River Market this coming weekend, got an honourable mention for excelling in the art of tasty Thai.
