We're continuing with our popular feature - our staff's Top 5 (Or More) Things To Do This Weekend, and we have a few more events sure to excite all locals.

1 Get listening on Sunday, Oct. 14 at 2 p.m. for the UBC Opera Ensemble, which will be playing in room 103 at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts at 6450 Deer Lake Ave. The ensemble, which is under the direction of Nancy Hermiston and accompanied by Richard Epp will perform a preview of the operas to be featured in the UBC Opera School 2012-13 season.

son. 2 Get sharing music at the second annual Music Share fundraiser, featuring live musical performances by Feedback, Jason and the Diatonics, a silent auction, a community art project hosted by 4 Cats Capitol Hill and much more.

The event's on Sunday, Oct. 14 at 1 p.m. at the Scandinavian Community Centre at 6540 Thomas St. Tickets are $15 for adults/ teens and are available at Staccato Studios or by calling 778-998-1075.

Children 12 and under are free with an adult ticket holder. All proceeds raised will continue to fund music outreach pro-grams operated through Burnaby Family Life. 3 Get educated about breast cancer at the Breast Cancer Prevention and Risk Assessment Clinic being held at the Bonsor Recreation Complex from 1: 30 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13.

This clinic educates women on how to improve their breast cancer awareness through healthy lifestyle changes, such as maintaining a healthy weight, increasing physical activity, eating a healthy diet and limiting alcohol consumption. 4 Get cheering on Friday, Oct. 12 for the St. Thomas More Homecoming football game at Burnaby Lake West at 5 p.m. STM plays Terry Fox and the Knights are coming off a huge road win over W.J. Mouat last week. After the game, people are invited to visit the post-game reception, which will be held in a private room at Burnaby 8Rinks.

Tickets to the reception, available in advance, get you a burger, salad and an adult beverage. There will also be a 50/50 draw in support of Covenant House. If you haven't had enough football by then, New Westminster and Notre Dame play immediately after the STM-Fox game. The Jugglers have a huge complement of North Burnaby players on their squad and the Hyacks are always fun to watch.

to watch. 5 Get browsing and buying on Saturday, Oct. 13 for the Art Show and Sale, hosted by My Artist's Corner at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts in Deer Lake Park. The third annual show and sale runs from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., with a reception at 5 p.m., and showcases recent work by artists who are dealing with mental health issues and features a silent auction.
